A significant number of aspiring job applicants lie and falsify information on their resumes. In India, studies have shown that over 10% of people lie on their resume and these lies include details on education, criminal records, and even residential address.

Surprisingly, many of those applications who fabricate their job application still end up getting a job.

How is that possible? The lack of proper employee screening procedures.

Adriot Analytical Agencies Pvt. Ltd. is a detective agency in Kolkata and we have been running employee background checks for various companies in the city. One of the main reasons for hiding or falsifying information on applications arises from the fact that applicants do not wish to disclose their criminal past, wish to hide periods of unemployment so that it does not look bad on their resume and so on. For some of them, it is simply a means to get ahead in a fierce and competitive job market.

However, from a company’s standpoint, hiring employees who have provided false information is a huge loss. Adriot’s team has outlined some of the reasons below that make employee screening a necessity.
